Hotels to Stay in Bali. Are you thinking of traveling to Bali? Take me with you! Bali is my home, my breath, my disconnection.

The Island of Bali is the most popular island in all of Indonesia. Not only millions of travelers arrive every year, but it has also become the base of many foreigners. It is the island of good vibes, surfing and some of the most spectacular places in Indonesia.

Bali is quite a large island. To get to know it all, you should spend a lot of time on it, not even I, after so many months and so many trips, have gotten to know every corner.

Canggu , the most millennial area to stay in Bali

Canggu is where I always stay in Bali. I have tried other areas, but without a doubt this is the best. Until a few years ago, Canggu was just 4 hotels and many rice fields. Now it is an area full of private villas, boutique hotels, bars, restaurants and several workspaces for those who want to live in Bali and work online (something very useful when the connection is lousy or there are storms).

Foreigners live in Canggu throughout the year and generally in a range between 25 and 40 years, for this reason, it is known as the millennial zone. And despite the fact that the residents are this age, it is not a party zone.

Canggu has a beach too, perfect for watching sunsets and surfing . In addition, it has thousands of paths that are lost among the rice fields .

Being an exclusive area, hotels are usually luxurious and quite expensive. Although there are also low cost options. The vast majority of accommodations are villas, something that I recommend if you are going to spend a few days in Bali.

Seminyak, a good alternative near Kuta and Canggu

Close to Canggu, we find neighboring Seminyak. This area is much more exploited (full of hotels and services for tourists), and it is a great option if you do not have much budget for accommodation. You can find great luxury hotels for very little.

Seminyak beach is beautiful, perfect for sunbathing and doing some surfing. In addition, it is precisely on its beaches that most of the chill out and music bars are concentrated, perfect for watching the sunset, listening to music and having a drink.

Some great options to stay in Seminyak:

  • 5 Star Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach
  • 4 star U Paasha Seminyak Bali Hotel
  • 5 Star Villas Uma Sapna Hotel
  • 3 star Villa Zak hotel

Kuta, a party alternative but…

Kuta is a very commercial, partying and somewhat unsafe area at night.

Here they find some great hotels and areas to party. It is possible to stay in a 5-star hotel in mid-season for an average of 50 euros per night. So if you feel like staying here (and not in Canggu which is less than 20 minutes away) I’ll add some options for you.

The main avenue of Canggu is full of stores with big brands, especially the surfer vibe.

Some options to stay in Kuta:
Hilton Garden Inn Bali Ngurah Rai Airport 4*

  • The Anvaya Beach Resort Bali 5*
  • Hard Rock Hotel Bali 5* (A more expensive option, but with music and parties all day)
  • InterContinental Bali Resort 5*

Ubud, an essential area to see in Bali

Ubud is the green paradise. It is an essential area to see in Bali. And I like to stay here from time to time, it is a place full of peace . There is no beach here, but rice terraces everywhere, temples, jungles, secret waterfalls… The town of ubud is a hive of people coming and going, where you can eat, shop and enjoy the atmosphere.

Ubud is one of the essential areas to see in Bali. And if it is your first time in Bali and you are going to spend a few days, it is recommended that you stay here for 2 or 3 nights to get to know this area and its surroundings and thus not have to spend so many hours driving from here to there 🙂 you will save on journeys.

Villas and luxury hotels predominate in Ubud. However, there are hotels of all kinds and you can find very good hotels for very little, let’s see options.

Some great options to stay in Ubud:

  • The Kayon Jungle Resort by Pramana 5*
  • Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan 5* (AWESOME, please tell me about your experience if you stay here)
  • Villa Kayu Lama 4*
  • Meruhdani Boutique Hotel Ubud 3* (My parents always go to this hotel, there is no one to change their habit)

Nusa Dua, if you are looking for quieter beaches

The first time I traveled to Bali I stayed in Nusa Dua. Here you will find the most beautiful beaches on the island, or you will have them very close. And it is an area full of hotels and large chains. However, it is somewhat far from the rest of the island, so you will have to drive a lot and put up with horrible traffic (especially in the afternoons). It is a great area to stay with children as there are large hotels with various types of swimming pools, mini club… also the beaches have very gentle waves and are calm.

Some great options to stay in Nusa Dua:

  • INAYA Putri Bali 5*
  • Novotel Bali Benoa 5*
  • The Apurva Kempinski Bali 5*
